Climate Anxiety and Grief

Are thoughts about the climate crisis consuming your day?

Mourning what has already been lost and scared of the losses to come?

Feel helpless, paralyzed or guilty about your ability to make change, or worried that others will fail to take necessary action?

Our planet is in crisis! To even dip our toe into the enormity of the climate crisis can feel paralyzing. Climate Anxiety or Eco-anxiety is a genuine distress about climate change and its impact on the environment and human existence. It's normal to experience worry and fear due to the real threat of climate change. However, it becomes essential to seek help when this distress leads to a shutting down or being stuck in despondency.

In therapy, our goals will be to find a balance between feelings of doom and  denial. We will work on increasing our tolerance for uncertainty about the future and exploring meaningful, sustainable actions. I firmly believe that for change to happen, we must shine a light on the darkness surrounding climate change. It is also crucial to examine how the climate crisis disproportionately impacts the poorest and most vulnerable peoples. By addressing these aspects, we can work towards creating connection, movement, and empowerment.
