Grief and Loss

Grief and loss can manifest in various forms and encompass a range of experiences.

Have you experienced the death of a loved one?

Are you grappling with the end of a significant relationship or going through a divorce?

Perhaps you've recently faced the loss of a job or find yourself navigating financial uncertainty?

Maybe you or someone close to you has received a diagnosis of a serious health condition?

These are just a few examples of the challenging situations that can bring about grief and loss in our lives. Grief encompasses the internal aspect of loss—the way we experience it deep within ourselves. It's a profound, often harrowing journey, a process that doesn't adhere to a specific timeline or endpoint. Grief doesn’t play by the rules and just like each of us is unique, so is our experience of grief.

Every instance of grief carries its own distinctive mark, as singular and exceptional as the individual you mourn or the situation that you find yourself in.  The agony of loss can strike with such intensity, breaking our hearts, as grief is the reflection of the connection that has been lost.

Grief has the potential to arise immediately after a loss, overwhelming us with its intensity. On the other hand, it can also lie dormant within us for years, surfacing only when we create the necessary time and space to confront and embrace it. While grief counseling cannot magically erase the pain associated with loss, our work together can provide valuable support and tools to help you cope with your grief. Collaboratively, my hope is to build a safe and understanding space to navigate the complex emotions that accompany the loss, allowing you to find ways to heal and adapt to your new reality.

“Grief is different. Grief has no distance. Grief comes in waves, paroxysms, sudden apprehensions that weaken the knees and blind the eyes and obliterate the dailiness of life.”
